CLIFTON PARK, New York, June 4, 2012 – Jim Boykin, a nationally recognized leader in Internet marketing and CEO of Internet Marketing Ninjas, today announced the purchase of the Developer Shed assets from Ziff Davis Enterprise. The assets acquired include over twenty websites and message boards including DeveloperShed.Com, DevShed.Com, SEOChat.com, Scripts.Com, Tutorialized.Com, CodeWalkers.Com, DevArticles.Com and others. These properties are an established support system in the application development, web development and search engine optimization communities providing a wealth of content, tutorials, and forum discussions.
“I’ve watched the Developer Shed properties move from being a strong resource of information on programming, Internet marketing and website tools to being focused strictly on revenue generation,” Boykin said. “I intend to return the sites to their communities by modernizing them, reducing the amount of advertising and focusing on the interests of their users.”
The acquisition of the Developer Shed properties diversifies Boykin’s holdings to now include technology sites, delivery of relevant content and message boards for the discussion of trending topics. The Developer Shed group of websites delivers information to millions of visitors every month.
Boykin is the CEO of Internet Marketing Ninjas, a worldwide leader in Internet Marketing, offering SEO tools and services such as SEO reporting and analysis, content writing, link building, web design, widget building and social media marketing. Internet Marketing Ninjas currently employs approximately 100 team members.
“This is the first in a series of acquisitions we have planned for the next two years,” commented Boykin. “We’re thrilled and grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the communities that have given us so much.”
“The Developer Shed transaction with Jim Boykin's Mergers and Acquisition group was fast and efficient,” said Michael Caruso, Executive Vice President and CFO of Ziff Davis Enterprise. “It was a pleasure working with them.”
The transaction closed on May 18th, 2012 with the new entity being named DevShed, LLC. Five employees, located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, are being retained as part of the transaction. Terms are not being disclosed.
